Contractions which do not form part of standard Braille rules such as: -

Dot 5 C = Christ

Dot 5 J = Jesus

Dot 5 G = God

Can be added to the Braille Maker Dictionary like any other word.

Launch Braille Maker from the Start Menu

From the Braille Maker Main Menu choose Settings

Choose Dictionary

The following dialogue box will appear

Choose Add

Enter the word required – e.g. JESUS

In the Braille version of the word enter a double quote “ followed by J – double quote is the ASCII Braille for Dot 5

Tab to or click on OK

Tab to or click on OK

Tab to or click on OK

Tab to or click on EXIT

The contraction will now be used on all future translations.

Other Dot 5 contractions can be added in the same way.

The ASCII Braille symbols for other contractions are: -

" (double quote) is dot 5

@ (at sign) is dot 4

^ (circumflex or caret) dots 45

_ (underscore) dots 456
