Index Model 1 Braille printers are now obsolete, and although many are still working well, and providing good quality Braille, spares are no longer available for them.

Some of the Model 1 Braille printers were: -

Index Basic Braille Printer - 1985 - 1987

Index Domino Braille Embosser - 1988 - 1995

Index Everest Braille Embosser - 1992 - 1995

Although the Model 1 Everest looks very similar to the modern Everest, it was quite different, the front glass cover lifted up to allow access to the printhead.

Model 2 embossers have a parallel and a serial interface.

Model 3 embossers have parallel, serial, USB and a network interface.
