Why do some words contract incorrectly?
Acronyms frequently have no vowels in them, and are signed with a letter sign, and are not contracted. Words which are not acronyms but have no vowels in them such as dryly, hymn and lynch are contracted correctly by Braille Maker. If a word does not contract correctly, for example the name Smyth do the following: -
Locate the file EXCEPT.INI in the Braille Maker system folder and open it in Notepad Insert a new line in the correct place alphabetically (The order of the entries doesn't matter to Braille Maker, but keeping the entries in alphabetical order makes it easier to locate entries for the user). Type the new exception, in this case smyth on the new line with an equals sign at the end of the word that is: -
smyth=
Save the file
This will now contract correctly with no letter sign and a TH contraction at the end.
