Shirley Meakins
After working in the health and social care sector for 11 years, Shirley then went on to work with Sense the national deafblind and rubella association managing the Employment Opportunities Project in Kent. During this time Shirley successfully completed an Advanced Diploma in Information Technology and CACDP Deafblind and BSL qualifications.
Shirley provides Sensory Assessments for people with single and dual sensory disabilities under the Access to Work Scheme. She also provides DDA and disability Awareness training for employers and providers of goods and services and works one to one with individuals and organisations providing practical advice to assist organisations in complying with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.
Shirley works alongside health and safety / fire consultants with particular relevance to the Health, Safety and Welfare of people with sensory impairments or complex disabilities.
Shirley is also a CACDP licensed tutor assessor and works with health and social care staff training them to gain CACDP deafblind qualifications levels 1- 4. |
