Brian Cairnie B.Ed, Dip Ed (Special)

After working in the Civil Service and then the Licensed Trade, Brian retrained in 1983 as a Computer Programmer going on to work for Newcastle Upon Tyne City Council.

He returned to full time education to undergo Teacher Training and qualified as a Teacher of Mathematics and IT in 1989.  First teaching in a mainstream secondary school, and then moving into Specialist Further Education, teaching visually impaired students from 16 to 60.  During this time he successfully completed a Diploma in Special Education with the University of Birmingham and completed NVQ/GNVQ Assessor Training.

In 1995 he left teaching to start a business, providing Assessments and Training within the field of Visual Impairment.
